Prime Matter, the publisher, and Nightdive Studios, the developer, have announced that the highly anticipated System Shock Remake will no longer be released in March 2023 as previously scheduled. Instead, it will hit the shelves on May 30, 2023. The remake is a complete overhaul of the original 1994 breakthrough title, combining the cult gameplay of the iconic original with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, revamped interfaces, and all-new sounds and music.

The remake also features a host of improvements including new enemies, tweaked gameplay quality of life, revamped hacking mechanics, and deep new combat options featuring brutal dismemberment systems. The System Shock remake welcomes both new and old players to Citadel Station and the clutches of the evil SHODAN.

Players will use a combination of stealth, cunning, and futuristic weaponry to make their way through new areas of Citadel Station. They will also encounter traps, puzzles, and secrets in their quest to try to save Earth from destruction.

The recommended system requirements are the same as the minimum requirements except for the processor, which should be Intel Core i7-3770/AMD FX-8350 or better, 8 GB of RAM, and NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or better.
