The Donquixote Pirates, also known as the Donquixote Family, played the role of the main antagonist in the Dressrosa Arc of the One Piece anime. After committing a heinous act, they overthrew Dressrosa and ruled the country with an iron fist. Led by a former Shichibukai, the Donquixote Pirates are a strong group that also collaborates with Yonko Kaido in illegal businesses such as weapons and fake Devil Fruits. In this article, we will discuss the top 5 strongest members of the Donquixote Pirates in the One Piece anime.

1. Donquixote Doflamingo

As the captain of the crew, Donquixote Doflamingo is undoubtedly the strongest member of the Donquixote Pirates. He was previously a Shichibukai, which gave him protection from the World Government. However, Doflamingo used his status to engage in his illegal business. In terms of power, Doflamingo is one of the strongest enemies Luffy has ever defeated. He ate the Ito Ito no Mi, which enables him to manipulate strings. With this ability, Doffy can control others or use them as sharp blades. Doflamingo can create birdcages that can destroy all of Dressrosa, and his strings are strong enough to break regular swords. Not only that, but Doffy also mastered all three types of Haki, including Haoshoku Haki.

2. Vergo

Vergo is an undercover agent for the Donquixote Pirates. Besides being one of the executives of the Donquixote Pirates, he also serves as vice admiral and leads G-5 in the Marines. Vergo did not eat any Devil Fruit, and he does not have Haoshoku. However, he is one of the best in the usage of Busoshoku Haki. Vergo can coat his entire body with Busoshoku, which strengthens his attacks and makes him impervious to enemy attacks. Vergo can even turn a bamboo stick into a weapon that is harder than a sword. Because of his mastery of Busoshoku, his strength is acknowledged even by Doflamingo himself.

3. Pica

Pica has an intimidating appearance and power, even though his voice is cute. He ate the Ishi Ishi no Mi, which enables him to manipulate stones and turn himself into a stone. Pica can merge with the stones around him, and with this ability, he can make the entire palace his body. Not only that, but Pica also mastered Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki. Like Vergo, Pica can coat his entire body with Busoshoku. Only someone with strong Haki, like Zoro, can defeat him.

4. Sugar

At first glance, Sugar does not look scary at all. She looks like an ordinary girl obsessed with grapes. However, Sugar is a 22-year-old woman who ate the Hobi Hobi no Mi. This fruit can change her appearance into that of a little girl. Aside from that, the Hobi Hobi no Mi has a terrifying ability to turn anyone she touches into a toy. Even worse, anyone turned into a toy will be forgotten by everyone. After being transformed into a toy, they only have one option: to follow Sugar’s orders.

5. Diamante

Diamante is one of the executives of the Donquixote Pirates. He leads the combat division and is responsible for the Corrida Colosseum. Diamante ate the Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, Hira Hira no Mi. This fruit enables him to give cloth-like properties that can be folded to his own body or any inanimate object he touches. The power works on anything, including hard metal. Interestingly, Diamante can also maintain the toughness of the object even though it has become soft and thin.

The Donquixote Pirates are indeed a very strong crew. It is no wonder that they could rule Dressrosa with tyranny for a decade. Do you think there are other members of the crew who are equally as strong as the five characters above? In conclusion, these top 5 Donquixote Pirates’ members are the reason why Dressrosa arc is an unforgettable one in the One Piece anime.
