As Kurohige alias Marshall D Teach emerges victorious from his battle with Trafalgar Law on Winner Island, his crew at Hachinosu faces an unexpected attack from Monkey D Garp. One Piece 1085 teases a climactic one-on-one fight between Kurohige and Garp, with the former pairing off against his former pupil and Blackbeard’s tenth captain, Aokiji. After successfully securing the three copies of the road poneglyph on Winner Island, Marshall D Teach, aka Kurohige, was on his way back to Hachinosu. However, to his surprise, he found his base in ruins, with the desolate island covered in ice. He suspected Aokiji had gone rampant, causing the destruction when he was away. However, the damage was done, and Kurohige was shocked to find his men beaten and Luffy’s grandfather, Monkey D Garp, standing victorious.
Aokiji, Kurohige’s former pupil and Blackbeard’s tenth captain, was defeated by Garp in a climactic showdown. As Kurohige arrived on the scene, Garp had just knocked out Aokiji with a powerful punch. While Kurohige acknowledged Garp’s sheer strength, he was confident the old man was now exhausted and ready to be taken down. So, he ordered Van Augur to evacuate his colleagues while he prepared to fight Garp.
As Kurohige was ready to fight Garp, he also instructed Doc Q to heal his other commanders, who were injured in the previous attack. Jesus Burgess was to detain the marines until Kurohige’s crew was ready to fight again. With this, the stage is set for a showdown between two formidable opponents in the upcoming One Piece chapters.
