30 Days of Night is a horror movie adapted from a comic book of the same name by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith. Josh Hartnett, who previously starred in horror movie The Faculty (1998), plays the lead role as a sheriff named Eben Oleson. The film, directed by David Slade and produced by Sam Raimi and Robert Taper, received a rating of 51% on Rotten Tomatoes and earned $75.5 million globally from a production budget of $30 million.

The movie is set in Barrow, Alaska, a remote northern town preparing for the “30 Days of Night” period when the sun doesn’t rise for a month. Eben investigates several strange events happening around the town, including the mysterious deaths of animals, and discovers that someone has sabotaged the communication network, leaving the town isolated. That night, Marlow, the leader of a group of vampires, attacks the town and kills several of its residents.

Eben and his wife Stella manage to gather some of the survivors and take them to a loft to hide. Meanwhile, Marlow and his group continue to prey on the remaining townspeople. Over the next two weeks, Eben and the survivors fight to survive as they face numerous challenges, including dwindling food supplies and a snowstorm. They eventually manage to find a way out of their hiding place and attempt to make their way to the police station.

However, Marlow and his group of vampires are waiting for them outside, ready to resume their deadly hunt. Eben decides to distract the vampires and leads them away, while the rest of the survivors make their way to the police station. Meanwhile, Eben goes to his grandmother’s house to find an ultraviolet lamp, which he intends to use to kill the vampires. With the lamp, Eben manages to kill Marlow’s lover Iris by burning her face.

Later, Marlow and his group of vampires arrive at the police station in order to hunt down the remaining survivors. Meanwhile, Beau Brower, one of the survivors, uses a tractor to kill the pursuing vampires and sacrifices himself in the process. However, Marlow and a few other vampires manage to survive.

Eben, Stella, and the other survivors decide to head to a functioning power station, but they are forced to split up when they encounter a little girl named Gail Robbins who needs their help. Eben and Billy Kitka, another survivor, arrive at the power station but are confronted by a vampire who bites Billy. Eben is forced to kill Billy before he turns into a vampire himself.

With the sun about to rise and the vampires about to leave Barrow, Marlow and his group set fire to the entire town to cover their tracks. Eben then injects himself with Billy’s blood to become a vampire and fight Marlow and his group. The movie ends with a shot of Barrow in ruins, as the survivors head for safety.

In conclusion, 30 Days of Night is a thrilling horror movie that combines suspense, action, and gore to create an unforgettable cinematic experience. With its engaging story, strong cast, and stunning visuals, this movie is definitely worth watching for anyone who enjoys a good horror film.
