Indonesia continues to solidify its position as a leading nation in PUBG Mobile eSports with a second gold medal win at the SEA Games. The national team, INA 2, brought home the gold at the multi-sport event held in Kamboja on May 14, 2023. This followed the inclusion of PUBG Mobile as an official eSports branch at the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam, where Indonesia also won one gold and one silver medal in team and individual events, respectively.

The latest gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games has made Indonesia the only Southeast Asian country to have won two gold medals in the PUBG Mobile eSports team event. And it was quite a dominant performance with 95 professional players and 19 national teams from 10 Southeast Asian countries participating in the four-day event at Olympia Mall in Phnom Penh.

Indonesia sent two national teams to compete. INA 2, composed of Haikal “Yummy” Aditya, Alan Raynold “Satar” Kumaseh, Septiadi “Lapar” Ardiansyah, Muhammad “Boycil” Afriza, and Teuku Muhammad “Ponbit” Kausar, emerged as champions under the coaching staff of Jendra “Capt” Wahyudi, Bintang “Kent” Prakoso Pramanenda Sinaga, and Michael “Michael” Devami. While INA 1, with Juventino Ryan “Rosemary” Jeremy Rolos, Sharfan “Potato” Shahman, Eksarahman “RedFace” Jayanto, Nizar Lugatio “Microboy” Pratama, and Febrianto Genta “Svafvel” Perkasa, was coached by Steven Valerian “S1NYO” Danilo, Alfin “Morfeus” Pratama, and Doni “La Flame” Saputra, and placed fifth.

Indonesia’s position as the strongest PUBG Mobile country in Southeast Asia was further reinforced by the recent win of Alter Ego Ares in the 2023 PUBG Mobile Super League Southeast Asia Spring held in Malaysia. The team defeated 20 other top PUBG Mobile teams from the region.

Indonesia will once again test its skills in the 2023 PUBG Mobile World Invitational (2023 PMWI), an international tournament with a total prize pool of IDR 44.6 billion scheduled for July 11-16, 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
