Usopp’s Victories: 2 Strong Foes He Defeated in One Piece

Posted on

When it comes to the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, Usopp might be considered weaker compared to his crewmates, but that does not mean he hasn’t had his share of victories. In fact, he has defeated some of the series’ strongest foes. Let’s take a closer look at two of the opponents Usopp managed to take down.

1. Perona

Perona was a foe Usopp faced when the Straw Hat Pirates arrived at Thriller Bark. She was Gecko Moria’s subordinate, and she had the ability, thanks to the Horo Horo no Mi devil fruit, to create ghosts that could make people feel negative emotions. Even Luffy and Zoro were not immune to her powers, but Usopp was. This was because of Usopp’s tendency to be negative, which meant that Perona’s powers had no effect on him. With a fake hammer and some quick thinking, Usopp defeated Perona.

2. Sugar

Sugar was one of Doflamingo’s executives, and her devil fruit power, the Hobi Hobi no Mi, allowed her to turn people into toys. Usopp’s mission was to make her faint, which seemed impossible since Sugar was well-guarded. However, Usopp managed to trick Sugar by eating a spicy pepper and breathing fire onto her face, making her pass out. This proved to be a game-changer in the Dressrosa arc and led to the downfall of the Donquixote Pirates.

Usopp might not be the strongest member of the Straw Hat Pirates, but his victories over Perona and Sugar show that he is more capable than people give him credit for. As One Piece nears its final chapter, it’s exciting to think about what other challenges Usopp will overcome.
