Uchiha Sarada takes the spotlight in Boruto Chapter 78

Boruto Chapter 78 highlights the presence of Uchiha Sarada, the daughter of Uchiha Sasuke and Sakura Haruno. Sarada’s unwavering defense of Boruto has made her character more relevant compared to her previous appearances, where she seemed to be just a complement to Team 7.

In the chapter, Kawaki dishonors Konoha by kidnapping Naruto and Hinata and taking them to the undetected dimension of Daikokuten, all under the pretext of protecting them from Momoshiki Otsutsuki. However, his actions contradict both Konoha’s and Naruto’s will. Furthermore, Kawaki aims to kill Boruto, who serves as a vessel for Momoshiki Otsutsuki.

As Sarada learns of Boruto’s condition, she becomes disappointed that as his teammate, she was unaware of it. She also discovers that Kawaki killed Boruto and resurrected him during his fight against Code. Sarada immediately takes action to help Boruto. Despite her friendship with him, Sarada also admires Naruto and wishes to follow in his footsteps as a Hokage, which is why she must protect her friends.

As a descendant of the Uchiha clan, Sarada has tremendous potential for power. She has slowly mastered the Uchiha fireball jutsu and can awaken the three-tomoe Sharingan. Additionally, Sarada has inherited Sakura’s ability to control her chakra, giving her an edge in battles. However, despite her potential, Sarada has been overshadowed until this chapter. Unfortunately, her efforts to save Boruto ended up with him saving her from Kawaki’s wrath, despite her best intentions.

In the past, Sakura was motivated to become stronger by being saved by Sasuke and Naruto. Will Sarada follow in her mother’s footsteps? Sarada has a strong will to strengthen herself, but her growth as an Uchiha is slower than the rapid advancements in science and the Otsutsuki world. As a result, Sarada has not shone as brightly as she should have, based on the power of the Uchiha in the Naruto anime.
