The Untold Story of Monkey D Luffy’s Birth in God Valley Incident

In the vast world of “One Piece,” creator Eiichiro Oda has finally given us an important clue regarding the birth of Monkey D Luffy and its connection to the infamous God Valley incident. The God Valley incident, also known as the Valley of the Gods, was a pivotal event where the pirate crew Rocks, led by Rocks D Xebec, was eradicated by Monkey D Garp. Oda Sensei reveals that this clash occurred because the balance in the world of “One Piece” was disrupted. The Rocks pirates had become too dominant and posed a significant threat to the World Government.

Garp, as the leader of the operation, formed an alliance with Gol D Roger to confront Xebec, who had powerful commanders such as Shirohige, Kaido, Big Mom, Silver Axe, Shiki, and John.

But how was Monkey D Luffy created? The story begins long before the God Valley incident, with the battle between Im Sama and Joy Boy. When Joy Boy died, his heart transformed into a crystal and was swallowed by the earth. This heart continued to beat and created new life. After centuries had passed, Im Sama and the World Government (Gorosei) created artificial beings, including pirates, dragons, and all the characters in the “One Piece” universe. The conspiracy surrounding Gol D Roger and the One Piece treasure was revealed by a friend of Oda Sensei, stating that it was orchestrated by the World Government.

Unbeknownst to them, these artificial beings gradually adapted to the world of “One Piece.” Rocks D Xebec was the first artificial being with powers surpassing all others. The World Government played a role in arranging the massacre of the Rocks pirates. Garp, who was part of the Navy at the time, collaborated with Gol D Roger in the Operation to Eradicate the Rocks Pirates, also known as the God Valley incident. During this operation, the World Government lost one of its six Gorosei members. Garp, as the leader of the operation, witnessed Xebec’s final moments. Xebec handed a crystal to Garp and Roger, proclaiming that their battle was fake but the crystal was real.

In the embrace of Roger, Xebec uttered his final words, “Death is not frightening, this fight was enjoyable yet false, but this crystal is real.” Roger and Garp didn’t fully understand Xebec’s words, so they kept this secret from the World Government. Several years later, after Roger was executed by the World Government, Garp summoned his son, Monkey D Dragon. Garp handed Dragon the crystal given by Xebec. Dragon was instructed to awaken the power of the crystal at the Dragon Shrine, the most sacred place for dragons. As Dragon activated the crystal, he was surprised to see it transform into a golden heart, which then slowly developed into a baby. Dragon brought the baby to Garp, who decided to name him Luffy, as Garp was a member of the Navy. Luffy means “huffing and puffing,” taken from the sailing term “luffing.”

Garp kept all these events hidden in his heart and asked Dragon to keep them secret. Luffy grew up alongside Dragon, who became his father figure. During his childhood, Luffy received help from his adoptive brothers, Sabo and Portgas D Ace, the sons of Gol D Roger. Im Sama and the World Government remained unaware of these occurrences, oblivious to the fact that a disaster was lurking. Yes, the return of Joy Boy, now named Monkey D Luffy, poses a threat to them.

As time passed, Luffy grew into a young man with aspirations of becoming the Pirate King, inspired by Akagami no Shanks. However, this secret began to unravel when Luffy unleashed Gear 5 in his battle against Kaido in Wano. The World Government, realizing the awakening of the powerful Joy Boy, who possesses the Godly Power of Nika, took immediate action. Im Sama sent one of the Gorosei members, Jaygarcia Saturn, along with Admiral Kizaru, to seize the Sun God Nika’s power. According to insider information from Oda’s friend, this is likely connected to the looming threat of the Godly Nika. The future chapters of “One Piece” hold the answers to what happens next.
