Sanji, one of the trio monsters in the Straw Hat Pirates, has always been considered the weakest. Compared to Luffy and Zoro, who have already mastered all three types of haki, Sanji’s powers are seen as lacking. In fact, the crew’s newest member, Jinbe, has even been said to have replaced Sanji as part of the trio. However, this may not be entirely accurate.
Despite having a lower bounty value and lacking in certain areas, Sanji still holds an important position among his crew. After all, he and Zoro are considered to be the wings of the future Pirate King, Luffy. As the wings, Sanji and Zoro should have equal strength. In response to a fan’s question about who is stronger between the two, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, said that they were evenly matched.
Although Sanji’s expertise lies in Kenbunshoku Haki, he may still be able to awaken Haoshoku Haki, the Haki of the Conquering King. In fact, Oda confirmed that the trio monsters all have all three types of haki, with each specializing in one type. Luffy specializes in Haoshoku Haki, Zoro in Busoshoku Haki, and Sanji in Kenbunshoku Haki. This means that Sanji may very well possess the ability to awaken Haoshoku Haki.
In the current arc, the Straw Hat Pirates are facing many challenges, including a Buster Call attack in Egghead. If Sanji were to awaken his Haoshoku Haki, it could give the crew the strength they need to overcome these obstacles. It could even be the key to safely escaping Egghead.
So while Sanji may not have the same level of immediate power as Luffy and Zoro, his unique abilities and potential for growth make him an indispensable member of the Straw Hat Pirates. The true power of Sanji in One Piece has yet to be fully revealed, but with Oda’s confirmation of his skills and potential, fans can’t wait to see what he’s truly capable of.
