The Zenin Clan is one of the strongest and most influential Jujutsu families in Jujutsu Kaisen. They are the main focus of the story among the three main clans in the series. Although the Gojo Clan is also powerful, and so is the Kamo Clan. But the Zenin Clan has dominated the conversation about clans in this series from the beginning. Many characters in Jujutsu Kaisen are closely related to this clan, which has been revealed to be cruel to their family members who do not have cursed energy.
Recently, the Zenin Clan was even mentioned in the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, with a fan theory suggesting that Yuji Itadori’s grandfather, Wasuke, was one of their members. The fan even suggested that Wasuke was Toji Fushiguro’s father, making Yuji and Megumi Fushiguro cousins. Regardless of the theory, the Zenin Clan has been heavily focused on in Jujutsu Kaisen. Among the Gojo, Kamo, or even Imanuki Clans, only the Zenin Clan is known for who their family members are and their exploits. Furthermore, this family is also the most complicated among the others.
As a Jujutsu Clan, many members of this family are known to be strong. Who is the strongest member of the Zenin Clan in Jujutsu Kaisen? Here’s the breakdown:
1. Naobito Zenin
Naobito is the head of the Zenin family before Megumi Fushiguro arrives. He is a Jujutsu sorcerer of Grade 1 who inherited the Zenin Clan’s Projection Sorcery Technique. His cursed technique allows him to transform one second into 24 frames, giving him the ability to see his opponent’s movements. The only condition that needs to be applied to this technique is that he must have contact with his opponent for the technique to work. If there is no contact, his opponent will freeze for one second. Naobito played a significant role in the Shibuya Incident arc while battling special grade curses. He also showed his prowess in secret techniques and anti-domain techniques named Falling Blossom Emotions.
2. Naoya Zenin
Naoya is Naobito’s son and supposed heir to the Zenin Clan throne, but under certain circumstances, he was not appointed as the head of the clan. In the manga, he was stated to be stronger than most of the Clan’s members and is a Grade 1 Jujutsu sorcerer. Like his father, he also possesses the Projection Curse Technique. Naoya is also known for being cunning, arrogant, quick-witted, and skilled in using weapons during battle. After being killed by Maki’s mother, Naoya is reincarnated as a vengeful cursed spirit. His appearance is larger and scarier, looking like a grub with human hands. However, his face is covered by a star-shaped mask with six holes. Though difficult to recognize, Naoya’s human face appears from one of the holes. This form is merely a cursed womb condition, and he can evolve into a cursed cocoon-like with a skull-shaped face that can extend tendrils that function as humanoid limbs. But, Maki, and Noritoshi Kamo defeated him in the Culling Game.
3. Maki Zenin
Maki is Mai’s twin sister. In most Jujutsu families, twins are considered unfortunate due to the distribution of power and abilities in the womb. Since the Heavenly Restriction was placed on Maki since birth, she does not possess cursed energy. Still, she compensates for it with physical abilities, just like her cousin, Toji Fushiguro.
4. Ogi Zenin
Ogi is the twin Zenin’s father and the second child in the clan. He is a Grade 1 Jujutsu sorcerer and specializes in using his cursed energy-laden katana. With his Jujutsu talent, he has the ability to use the secret technique of barrier known as Blazing Courage, which allows him to emit frames from his katana.
5. Mai Zenin
Mai is Maki’s twin sister and a Grade 3 sorcerer in Jujutsu. Her Cursed Technique is a construct in which she can use cursed energy to produce small objects like guns and rifles with precise aim.
In conclusion, the Zenin Clan is a formidable force to be reckoned with in Jujutsu Kaisen. They have powerful individuals with unique abilities and techniques. Naobito Zenin, Naoya Zenin, and Maki Zenin are among the most outstanding and powerful members of this clan.
