One Piece has always been known for its intense rivalries, and Eiichiro Oda has once again created a new one between two powerful characters in the series: Luffy and Katakuri. As the main character in One Piece, Luffy is no stranger to rivalry, but this time it’s different because his opponent is none other than the former commander of Big Mom’s pirate crew and her son, Katakuri.
Their first battle took place on Whole Cake Island, and while Luffy emerged as the winner, it was later revealed that Katakuri intentionally lost to him to build a rivalry between them. As a result of the battle, Katakuri has now become a captain of his own crew, and if he returns to Big Mom’s crew, it would automatically reignite the rivalry between him and Luffy. This has set the stage for an intense showdown between the two characters in future One Piece chapters.
