Attack on Titan season 3 introduced the character of Kenny Ackerman suddenly in the series. Kenny appeared when he was about to attack his own nephew, Levi Ackerman, who belongs to the Scout Regiment. He was working for the special forces of Raja Rodd Reiss and was ordered to eliminate the Scout Regiment including Levi Ackerman. Initially, Kenny was known as “Kenny the Ripper,” a serial killer who operated within the Walls of Sina and brutally slit the throats of over 100 members of the Military Police. However, Kenny spent most of his time operating in the underground city where he eventually discovered his sister, Levi’s mother, who had passed away.

Kenny initially intended to find his sister after his father died. His sister worked at the border house and lived in poverty. When Kenny found his sister’s residence, he discovered a small, emaciated child and Levi’s mother lying down. Initially, he thought his sister was sick, but then Levi explained that his mother had died. From that time on, Levi was raised and trained in martial arts until he became tough and was able to fend for himself. Several years later, Levi met Erwin Smith and persuaded him to join the Scout Regiment.

The personal relationship between Kenny and Levi was important because they later found themselves on opposing sides. Kenny even intended to kill Levi. During their hunt for each other, Levi explained to his friends how dangerous Kenny was and that he had lived with him for a while. Therefore, he knew that Kenny had far more ability than him.

Kenny’s career began as a serial killer because he was curious and dug up information about his clan, who were always being slaughtered and living in poverty. Eventually, he met Raja Uri Reiss, who explained what had really happened to the Ackerman clan and apologized. After that, the Ackerman persecution was officially stopped, and Kenny was appointed as Raja Uri’s right-hand man.

Raja Uri explained to Kenny about the power of the Founding Titan that he possessed and how it was to be passed down from generation to generation. Initially, Kenny had bad intentions to steal the Founding Titan, but then he knew it would be pointless, even if he got it because he was an Ackerman, who was not destined to become a titan. Besides, he didn’t have royal blood to activate the power of the titan.

When Kenny lost the fight against the Scout Regiment, in his last moments, he explained to Levi that he was his uncle. He also provided a syringe for transferring the power of the titan. This syringe was later used by Levi to save Armin. From Kenny, Levi finally learned about the history of the Ackerman clan and why he, Mikasa, and Kenny had abilities beyond that of others.

In conclusion, the mysterious Kenny Ackerman’s character leaves Attack on Titan fans with a lot of questions. His presence brought a lot of surprises to the series, and his personal relationship with Levi added depth to the show.
