The Jungle Book is an adventure, computer-animated cartoon, drama, family, fantasy, and kids movie that was released in 2016. Directed by Jon Favreau, the movie is a remake of the 1967 cartoon of the same name by Wolfgang Reitherman. Starring Neel Sethi, the movie is based on Rudyard Kipling’s book and tells the story of Mowgli, an orphaned human, who is raised by a pack of wolves in the Indian jungle. However, his life is threatened when a vengeful tiger, Shere Khan, discovers his presence, and Mowgli must leave his wolf family to seek safety among humans.

As a child, Mowgli was raised by Raksha, a she-wolf, and her pack, led by Akela. He learns to live like a wolf and is forbidden by Bagheera, the black panther that serves as his mentor, to use human tricks. During the dry season, all the animals gather at the Water Truce to drink the remaining water as part of the peace agreement between them. However, the peace is disturbed by Shere Khan, who can smell the human inside Mowgli. Shere Khan is angry with humans after being wounded by fire, and he intends to kill Mowgli at the end of the dry season. With the peace treaty over, Akela and the pack debate the seriousness of Shere Khan’s threat, and Mowgli decides to leave the jungle to protect his wolf family. Bagheera accompanies him to the nearby human village.

Their journey is not easy, as Shere Khan attacks them. Mowgli manages to escape and takes refuge in the deeper jungle, where he meets Kaa, a giant python. Kaa hypnotizes Mowgli and shows him a vision of his father who was killed by Shere Khan. Mowgli sees that his father used the “Red Flower,” which is fire, to hurt Shere Khan before he died. Before Kaa can eat Mowgli, Baloo, a bear, attacks Kaa and saves Mowgli. Mowgli wakes up in Baloo’s cave, and the bear asks him to bring him honey from the top of a cliff as a return for saving him. With his clever tricks, Mowgli gets the honey, and Baloo stores it for the winter. Mowgli lives with Baloo for a while.
