The anime Naruto has built one of the most intense conflicts from the beginning till the end, The Fate Struggle between Naruto and Sasuke. Both being orphans, Sasuke is the only one that can understand Naruto’s feelings, and vice versa. Having a similar fate, they both have to follow their destiny, Sasuke was destined as the reincarnation of Indra and Naruto as Ashura. Though Madara and Hashirama fought and hated each other to the end, Sasuke eventually made peace with Naruto.

Sasuke left Konoha after Orochimaru’s attack during the Chunin Exams, seeking revenge against Itachi, he decided to betray his village and friends to gain more strength by joining Orochimaru. But when everyone gave up, Naruto became the only one who was determined to bring Sasuke back to Konoha. They both had multiple battles and almost killed each other, but Naruto refused to give up on his friend.

After years of self-improvement to increase their strength to face each other, Sasuke gets influenced by Obito and attacks Konoha, but before that, he brings Orochimaru and the fourth Hokage back to life with Edo Tensei jutsu to learn the truth. Sasuke took everything that he desired, along with all the Hokage, Team Taka, and Orochimaru, to participate in the Fourth Great Ninja War. They all fought together against Madara and Kaguya, and afterward, they fought each other once again. Finally, Sasuke realized his mistake and decided to befriend Naruto once again. They both were brought back to Konoha as they fainted.

In the anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Sasuke became Naruto’s right hand as the seventh Hokage. He wanders around alone seeking redemption for his past actions, gathering crucial information by traveling through different time-space independently, getting a glimpse of the enemy’s whereabouts. Sasuke sacrifices time with his family, Sakura, and Sarada, to achieve peace and stability for Konoha and the whole world.

Both the anime Naruto and Boruto manipulate time, for instance, there is an episode of Boruto where he discovers an ancient treasure, a turtle, that can send anyone to the past or future. Boruto, who is Sasuke’s student, teleports himself to the time of Konoha when Naruto was still his age. Sasuke and Boruto fight against Urashiki Otsutsuki to protect Naruto. Naruto, as the seventh Hokage, has finally achieved peace and stability in Konoha. A life that he always dreamed of, with a loving wife and two brilliant children. None of this would’ve happened if Sasuke hadn’t come back.

When Naruto and Sasuke fought, Naruto asked Sasuke why he didn’t kill him in their previous fights when he had a chance. Sasuke replied that he didn’t want to obey Itachi’s advice to kill his close friend to activate Mangekyo Sharingan. In a sarcastic tone, Sasuke said that he wanted Naruto to become the Hokage of Konoha before attacking him. Naruto retorted with words as he always did, saying that he didn’t deserve to be Hokage if he couldn’t bring his friend back. Naruto never takes back his words, so if Sasuke decides not to come back to Konoha, it would mean Naruto won’t become the Hokage.
