Pulp Fiction (1994) is an epic crime black comedy movie directed by Quentin Tarantino. The title of the film means “liquid fiction” and it does not give any clear idea about the plot. However, the film is a combination of two genres that are represented by the words in its title. Pulp Fiction is a non-linear movie consisting of seven random sequences that are put together to form a unique puzzle. The movie features unique characters and an excellent cinematography that makes it one of the best crime movies ever made.

Synopsis

The movie starts with two professional petty robbers Honey Bunny and Pumpkin, who decide to rob a diner. They encounter disagreements but eventually pull off the heist. The audience is then introduced to two hitmen Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega, who are assigned by their boss Marsellus Wallace to retrieve a briefcase from some people, which they do successfully. However, they find out that the briefcase contains a light that glows and is never shown to the audience.

Meanwhile, Vincent is asked to take Marsellus’s wife, Mia out while he is away. They go out on a date but Mia overdoses on heroin, which she mistakenly thinks is cocaine. Vincent takes her to Lance’s place, where they revive her. Eventually, Marsellus and Vincent have a fallout due to the incident.

Butch Coolidge, a boxer who was paid off to lose his match, instead wins the game leading to a rift between him and Marsellus. Butch is planning to leave town with his girlfriend when he runs into Marsellus on the way. They get into a fight leading to Butch’s escape, which leads him to encounter Maynard and Zed, who holds him captive along with Marsellus. They try to kill Marsellus, and also plan to rape him, but Butch manages to escape, and eventually saves Marsellus.
