Disney’s Princess Protection Program is a comedy and drama film that was released in 2009. The film was produced by Rainforest Production and directed by Annie DeYoung. Rosalinda takes on the identity of Rosie Gonzalez, a high school student who recently moved from Iowa to Louisiana. She will stay at Mayor Joe’s residence with his daughter, Carter (Selena Gomez). Carter is a tomboy who isn’t easy to approach and also feels insecure about her looks when she sees Rosie’s beauty. However, as the situation becomes more dangerous, she agrees to be Rosie’s “cousin” to keep her safe.
While in Louisiana, Rosie learns about American ways of life and tries to adapt to them. Despite being a quick learner, her royal background makes it difficult to blend in, and she often confuses her fellow students with her unusual habits.
