Murder on the Orient Express is a movie that brings to life the famous detective, Hercule Poirot, from the novels of the renowned writer, Agatha Christie. The movie takes place in 1934 when Hercule Poirot, a Belgian detective, has just finished a case in Jerusalem. Bouc, the nephew of the owner of the Orient Express, prepares a trip for Poirot to return to London. Poirot boards the train with Bouc and 13 other passengers. Edward Ratchett, a wealthy American businessman, offers Poirot to be his bodyguard during the three-day journey. However, Poirot declines the offer because of Ratchett’s arrogance.

One night, Poirot hears a noise coming from Ratchett’s cabin and sees someone wearing a red kimono running through the train. Later on, the train derails, leaving Poirot and the other passengers stranded until the engine can be repaired. The following morning, Poirot discovers Ratchett dead, stabbed multiple times. With the help of Bouc, Poirot starts investigating the murder.

During the investigation, Poirot discovers that Ratchett was actually John Cassetti, the kidnapper of Daisy Armstrong. Poirot finds evidence that connects Ratchett to the kidnapping, such as a handkerchief covered in blood found in Hubbard’s compartment and a conductor’s uniform found in Poirot’s cabin.
