Orochimaru vs Hiruzen: The Battle with Multiple Hokages

Posted on

When Orochimaru faced off against Hiruzen, he utilized the Edo Tensei to resurrect the First Hokage, Hashirama and the Second Hokage, Tobirama. However, Orochimaru failed to revive the Fourth Hokage, Minato, whose soul was trapped in the Shiki Fujin. Hiruzen stopped this resurrection in a manner that is still unknown. Though Hiruzen was relieved that he didn’t have to battle against Minato, the question remains: Was Hiruzen more scared of Minato than Hashirama and Tobirama?

1. Hiruzen was probably relieved because he didn’t have to fight against all three Edo Tensei Hokages. It was already a challenge to take on just two, let alone three. Therefore, he was fortunate that Edo Tensei Minato couldn’t be summoned to battle him.

2. Hiruzen knew the strength and speed of Minato. Facing his lightning-fast attacks would have been his primary issue. Though Tobirama created the Hirasihin technique, Minato perfected it and earned the title “Kilat Kuning” from Konoha. Hiruzen understood this and didn’t want to fight against him. Although Hashirama and Tobirama were both incredibly strong, even when revived perfectly, Hiruzen proved that he could hold them back. But if Minato, who was super fast, was added to the mix, it would have been exceedingly difficult for Hiruzen, and he risked being defeated.

3. When the third Edo Tensei was almost summoned, Hiruzen panicked and said, “I must stop the third one! Don’t let the third one come!” He uttered this line after failing to stop the first and second ones. From the dialogue, it sounded like he was panicking about the third Edo Tensei. However, the reason could be one of the first two points mentioned earlier. There’s a meme about Hiruzen’s panic induced by Minato, but it’s only a joke.

In conclusion, Hiruzen wasn’t necessarily more afraid of Minato than Hashirama and Tobirama; he was just relieved that he didn’t have to fight against all three Edo Tensei Hokages, especially with Minato, who was super fast. Nonetheless, Hiruzen was a capable fighter and strategist who knew how to handle the Hokages he battled. What do you think of this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
