The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha has some bad news for One Piece manga fans. The magazine announced that there will be a one-month hiatus in the publication because Eiichiro Oda, the writer and illustrator of the series, will undergo an eye operation. Fans may be disappointed with the decision, but they are supportive of Oda’s health.
While waiting for the next chapter, fans are rereading previous issues to find details they might have missed. One significant detail that emerged in the latest issue of One Piece manga is the revelation of the last three Seraphim models that could spell disaster for the Straw Hat crew on Egghead Island.
In chapter 1086, Fleet Admiral Sakazuki ordered all Seraphim to be sent to Tajine and Eigis to quell the rebellion. Although it is unclear what Sakazuki meant by “all,” he referred to the last three Seraphim in the series, which are modeled after former Shichibukai, Gecko Moria, Donquixote Doflamingo, and Crocodile.
These models, temporarily referred to as S-Croc, S-Bat, and S-Bird/Flamingo, respectively, have not been confirmed officially, but fans regard them as such. Like other Seraphim in the series, each of them is modeled after the childhood version of their respective Shichibukai. For instance, S-Croc has the same horizontal scar on the face as Crocodile, while S-Bat has the same body structure and overall appearance as Moria. S-Bird/Flamingo even has the same black glasses, the characteristic smile, and the same walking style as Doflamingo.
What’s interesting about Doflamingo’s point is that it could suggest that some Seraphim can mimic their drawn personalities. As indicated in Sportskeeda’s pure article, the significance of this small detail in the latest One Piece chapter is that it unveils the last three of the seven suspected Seraphim. Although there may be more as some Shichibukai replace some of the original seven Seraphim, fans speculate that Seraphim models will only be made after the original Shichibukai. With this assumption, the significance of the last three Seraphim’s revelation becomes clear. Unless Fleet Admiral Sakazuki intervenes, the Straw Hat crew may face the highest military power of the Marines – the Seraphim – in the final stages of the One Piece series.
