One Piece Chapter 1085: Fans Disappointed as Eiichiro Oda Skips Luffy’s Fight

Fans of One Piece are left disappointed yet again by the series creator, Eiichiro Oda, as the highly-anticipated battle between Monkey D Luffy and Gorosei is missing from One Piece Chapter 1085. Instead, the chapter shows Monkey D Luffy being captured by Gorosei without any indication of how the fight turned out.

Since Chapter 1080, the Egghead battle has not been mentioned by Oda, save for the early chapter of 1079, which revealed York’s betrayal and Akagami no Shanks’ surprise appearance. Many fans speculated that Oda purposely skipped the Egghead fight to increase the hype between Gorosei and Luffy’s battle. However, according to One Piece Chapter 1085 leaks, it appears that the Egghead battle has already ended.

The leaked chapter continues with a flashback of Reverie. Im Sama divulged information about Nefertari Lili to Raja Cobra, which angered Vivi’s father. But Gorosei immediately killed Raja Alabasta, and Sabo found the empty throne where Cobra was dead. The panel then shifts to the announcement of Cobra’s death outside Pangea Castle.
