Posted on

In the previous chapter, One Piece manga Chapter 1078, the series ended with the revelation of York’s betrayal. It turned out that York, the one who kidnapped Vegapunk and ordered Seraphim to attack the Lab Phase, was the traitor. In the next chapter, the series still focuses on York’s betrayal. However, there is an interesting event in this chapter which is the fight between Shanks and Kid. Let’s find out more.

1. York also betrayed by the World Government

For the last three months, York has been betraying Vegapunk by leaking secret information about Vegapunk’s research. He did it all just to become a World Noble. However, he did not expect that the World Government would betray him. The World Government sent CP Aigis 0 not only to kill Stella but also all of Vegapunk’s satellites, including York. Therefore, York came up with a new plan. He gave orders to Seraphim to attack everyone except him and Stella.

To avoid suspicion, York asked S-Snake to attack him and turn him into stone. When no one noticed, S-Snake had to return York to his normal form.

2. The Blackbeard Pirates arrive at Egghead

After causing chaos in Egghead, the scene shifts to outside Egghead, showing a ship with the Blackbeard Pirates’ flag arriving at Egghead. It is still unknown what the purpose of Blackbeard’s crew going to Egghead is. Blackbeard himself was last seen in a clash with the Heart Pirates. He tried to steal a copy of the Road Poneglyph, so Blackbeard had to fight Law. While the outcome of the fight is still unknown, his ship is now seen in Egghead.

3. Shanks defeats Kid with one Kamusari strike

Before Kid could meet Shanks face to face, the Kid Pirates were initially hindered by some of Shanks’ allies, such as Gerotiny, Huger, and Pululu. Kid then intended to finish them off with his strongest attack, Damned Punk. Unfortunately for Kid, Shanks could see the future with his incredible Kenbunshoku Haki. Shanks saw that his allies would be killed if he allowed Kid to attack them. Therefore, Shanks took the initiative to confront Kid.

After seeing a bad future through his Kenbunshoku, Shanks attacked Kid with Kamusari. This technique was previously seen used by Roger to defeat Oden. Receiving the attack, Kid immediately lost consciousness. His crew begged for forgiveness to Shanks to spare their captain’s life. Instead, they handed over a copy of the Road Poneglyph to Shanks.

4. Dorry and Brogy destroy Kid’s ship

After Shanks defeated Kid and Killer with one strike, the fight is not over yet for the Kid Pirates. Next, Dorry and Brogy destroy Kid’s ship with their Hakoku technique. Afterward, there is a narration that the Kid Pirates led by Eustass “Captain” Kid with a bounty of more than 3 billion berries have been wiped out without any survivors. This signifies that Kid’s journey to find One Piece and become the King of the Pirates has ended.

The result of the fight between Shanks and Kid was predictable from the beginning. However, Kid is still far from Shanks’ level. It is not surprising that he could be defeated by Shanks easily. Meanwhile, the arrival of Blackbeard in Egghead raises new questions that make fans even more impatient to see the next chapter. What do you think about it?
