It is highly likely that he went there to assist Dr. Vegapunk and his daughter, Jewelry Bonney. Kuma is not a character to be underestimated in terms of his strength, as he is one of the founding members of the Revolutionary Army alongside Monkey D Dragon and Ivan Koff. Also, he is on the side of the Straw Hat Pirates, and just like what he did on Sabaody Archipelago two years ago, Kuma could move the entire Straw Hat crew to a safe place, and possibly to Kamabakka Kingdom, where they could be guarded by the Revolutionary Army.
2. Sabo
In chapter 1054, Sabo was last shown in Lulusia, a kingdom that was destroyed by Im Sama. As a big brother, Sabo will not let his younger brother Luffy be caught by the Marines, especially with Admiral Kizaru leading the charge. In One Piece Stampede, Sabo showed his ability to create a pathway of fire on the sea, and he could do the same thing to save Luffy and his crew. By creating a fiery path, they could escape from Admiral Kizaru’s surveillance and get out of Egghead Island.
3. Shanks
If only one Admiral is sent to capture Luffy, he and his crew might have a good chance to defeat him unless something unexpected happens. But if the situation goes wrong, they could always count on Akagami No Shanks to come and save them. Shanks had foiled several attempts to capture and kill Luffy before, such as in Marineford and in Wano. Though there are rumors that Shanks is returning to his own territory, he could always make a swift appearance on Egghead Island, just as he had shown in Marineford.
