In the upcoming episode of One Piece 1085, the creator Eiichiro Oda will be revealing a crucial bit of information regarding the fate of Monkey D. Luffy. The information reveals a great destiny awaits Luffy in the future, after he successfully reaches the mysterious treasure One Piece on the Laugh Tale island.

As per Eiichiro Oda, Luffy will have to bear a great responsibility as he is the reincarnation of the legendary figure Joy Boy. The responsibility entails him to occupy the Empty Throne in Marijoa and to become the leader of the ‘New’ Ancient Kingdom. The leaked information suggests that acquiring the mysterious treasure on Laugh Tale island is not the end of Luffy’s journey in One Piece.

In reality, Luffy’s true goal is not to become a Pirate King but something much more significant than that. He has to fight a massive battle with the World Government and will lead to a new era after the collapse of the world government. After the downfall of the world government, the unnamed kingdom known as the Ancient Kingdom will be resurrected.

As the reincarnation of Joy Boy, Luffy will become the king of the new kingdom and occupy the Empty Throne in Marijoa. Joy Boy was once the leader of a single kingdom that ruled the small kingdoms in One Piece with the power of the first Sun God Nika devil fruit.

The Ancient Kingdom was said to have an advanced civilization with technology that was much more advanced than the ones developed by Vegapunk. One of the historical artifacts is, of course, the Ancient Robot on the Egggead island, which Vegapunk has been researching. Sadly, there was an incident that caused the Ancient Kingdom’s downfall, which also resulted in the disappearance of Joy Boy. It is believed that the cause of the incident was Im Sama, the mysterious figure occupying the Empty Throne in Marijoa.

Eiichiro Oda reveals that Luffy is destined to overthrow Im Sama from the Empty Throne after he has discovered what occurred during the Void Century. Even though the Revolutionary Army has started a coup, the group led by Luffy’s father still lacks the necessary power. Only after the Revolutionary Army and the Pirates unite to fight the World Government will a significant revolution occur. The climactic battle will feature Monkey D. Luffy defeating Im Sama one-on-one.
