Intriguing Facts About Eustass Kid from One Piece You Need to Know

Posted on

Eustass “Captain” Kid was first introduced in the Sabaody Archipelago as one of the Worst Generation. He participated in the battle against the Navy at Sabaody when Luffy struck the face of a World Noble. Kid has since become an ally to Luffy, joining the fight in Wano to take down Kaido and Big Mom. Recently, fans have been intrigued by Kid’s journey as a pirate that ended at the hands of Shanks. In this article, we’ll present a series of interesting facts you should know about Eustass Kid.

1. A Pirate from South Blue

Before setting sail on the Grand Line and reaching the New World, Eustass Kid began his journey from South Blue. In the One Piece universe, the South Blue is known as the birthplace of strong individuals. Other renowned pirates, such as Lucky Roo from the Red Hair Pirates and Catarina Devon, also hail from South Blue. Furthermore, high-ranking Navy officers Sengoku and Kuzan, and even Pirate King’s son, Portgas D Ace, were born in South Blue. It isn’t surprising that Kid is quite powerful.

2. A Member of the Worst Generation

As mentioned earlier, Kid was first introduced in Sabaody as a member of the Worst Generation. The Worst Generation refers to eleven Super Rookies and one Shichibukai, Blackbeard, who have bounties exceeding 100 million berries. Along with other Worst Generation members, Kid arrived in Sabaody to continue his journey to the New World. However, he got involved in battle against the Navy after Luffy struck Saint Charlos. Kid assisted Luffy, intrigued by him.

3. Kid once had a higher bounty than Luffy

When Kid was introduced, his bounty was 315 million berries, while Luffy had a 300 million berry bounty. This was due to Kid’s sheer brutality, rather than his open defiance against the World Government. Throughout his journey from South Blue to Sabaody, Kid had killed many individuals. Unlike Luffy, who wouldn’t kill anyone, Kid is the type who would eliminate anyone who laughs at his dreams. Hence, he had a higher bounty than Luffy at that time.

4. Kid’s hobby: challenging Yonkos

When Kid encountered Shanks in Elbaf, it was not his first time challenging a Yonko. Kid had previously clashed with other Yonkos multiple times. During the time skip, he engaged in conflicts with the Red Hair Pirates, losing his arm in one of the battles. Undeterred, Kid resumed challenging Yonkos in Wano. He allied with Luffy and Law to defeat Kaido and Big Mom. While Luffy faced Kaido, Kid and Law teamed up to defeat Big Mom. With their Devil Fruits’ Awakening powers, the rookie trio managed to defeat both Yonkos.

5. Kid’s journey ended by Shanks

Like Luffy and most other pirates in One Piece, Kid set sail to find One Piece and become the Pirate King. Unfortunately, his dream was shattered by Shanks, a consequence of recklessly challenging someone stronger than himself. When Kid clashed with Shanks in Elbaf, Shanks defeated him with a single attack using Kamusari, a technique once used by Gol D Roger to defeat Kozuki Oden. In addition to being defeated, Kid’s ship was destroyed by Dorry and Brogy. This marked the end of Eustass Kid’s journey.

Kid could have been one of Luffy’s fiercest rivals, as they are both talented rookies with rapid growth. Regrettably, Kid’s journey ended too soon due to his poor choice of adversary. So, what are your thoughts on this notorious pirate?
