The movie sequel of I Told Sunset About You, I Promised You the Moon follows the story of Teh and Oh-aew as they enter college. The lovebirds face more complex problems as they both adapt to new things in their life, such as living far from each other and meeting new people. Despite being in the same city for college, Teh and Oh-aew live in different places. Teh lives in the dorm, while Oh-aew lives in a condo near his campus, reflecting their different economic backgrounds.

The first episode of I Promised You the Moon shows Teh’s determination to spend more time with Oh-aew, even though they live far apart. Teh has to wake up early in the morning to avoid being late to class, but he plans his days to spend as much time with Oh-aew as possible before returning to his dorm. However, Teh faces a challenge as he becomes busy with his drama club activities, while Oh-aew struggles to fit in with his course and has no close friends in college.

To further complicate things, Teh becomes close with Jai, Khim, and Top, his senior drama club members. Despite the age gap, the four share the same passion for acting, and they hang out often. Khim is especially inspiring to Teh because of her persistence, despite failing several times in auditions. On the other hand, Oh-aew finally finds friends in Q, Plug, Maengpong, and Auu, all in the Business major.

However, things take a different turn when Teh and Oh-aew audition for a drama. Khim gets rejected first, followed by Oh-aew, who receives comments about his feminine appearance. This rejection marks a turning point where Oh-aew reconsiders his choice of career. After careful consideration, Oh-aew tells Teh that he doesn’t want to pursue acting anymore and will switch to the Business major. Teh initially thinks Oh-aew is giving up too quickly, but he later realizes that Oh-aew is determined to find what he truly wants in life.

Oh-aew’s change of major also brings a strain on his and Teh’s relationship. Teh feels left behind, and his discomfort with Oh-aew’s Business friends starts to show. One dinner outing with them leads to a misunderstanding and a fight between Teh and Oh-aew. However, as Top and Khim’s graduation day arrives, Teh is moved by Khim’s practical approach to life, and the two lovebirds make up.

I Promised You the Moon portrays a realistic love story between two young men navigating through college life and their personal aspirations. The movie highlights the challenges of a long-distance relationship and individual growth, emphasizing the importance of communication and support in any relationship.

In conclusion, I Promised You the Moon is a coming-of-age love story that packs an emotional punch. The poignant storyline, paired with the excellent acting of the cast members, make it a must-watch. The movie encourages the audience to pursue their passions in life and find support from their loved ones.
