The upcoming episode of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Episode 290, is set to air on March 5th, 2023. Adapted from chapter 61 of the manga titled ‘Madness,’ the focus of the episode will be on Kawaki, who finds himself in a precarious situation. Being someone who despises the power of Karma, Kawaki must come to terms with the fact that he is not as strong as he once was when he had the karma mark. Furthermore, the Otsutsuki, who possess incredible strength, pose a significant threat to Naruto’s family and Konoha. Kawaki is torn between protecting Naruto and his family and not wanting to activate the Karma inside him, so he faces a tough decision.
In Episode 290, Kawaki leaves the house secretly, but he knows he is being watched by Nishi, a Konoha shinobi with sensor abilities. Though he is aware of being watched, he is exhausted and can’t handle it anymore. The surveillance system in Konoha has become more stringent due to the severity of the threat they face. Naruto and Sasuke’s family are the primary targets, and they’ve discovered that Code could show up at any moment.
As Konoha prepares to face Code, who has allied with Eida and Daemon, Kawaki has to deal with his own problems. His desire to protect Naruto is as strong as his desire to prevent the resurrection of Otsutsuki powers within him, but unfortunately, he doesn’t have any other option to strengthen himself. He can’t learn various shinobi skills due to time constraints, so activating Karma is the only way to gain strength.
In episode 289, Kawaki meets with Amado, and they have a conversation about the harsh reality that Kawaki faces. Amado explains that he is not as strong as he was when he had the Karma mark and needs to gain more strength to protect Naruto and Konoha from Code, who has inherited Isshiki Otsutsuki’s powers. Despite Amado’s suggestion to reactivate Karma, Kawaki refuses to do so, as he doesn’t want to go back to being controlled by Karma.
Kawaki must find a way to protect Naruto and his family from the impending danger while also preventing the resurrection of Otsutsuki powers within him. He is faced with a difficult decision and is struggling to find an alternative that would allow him to gain strength and protect Naruto without enabling Karma. Code is also a significant threat to Konoha, and they must remain vigilant in their efforts to protect everyone from the powerful entity.
