5 Anime Characters with Strong Powers but Rarely Win Fights

Posted on

In the anime world, there are numerous characters with extraordinary powers that make them victorious in every battle. However, having massive power is not a guarantee of success in a fight. Some heroes with tremendous abilities struggle to win their battles. Often, these heroes will gain new powers in the middle of a fight, but may still find it challenging to use them effectively. In many popular anime series, even the strongest characters occasionally get defeated. Here are five anime characters who rarely win fights, despite their formidable powers.

5. Neji Hyuuga – Naruto

Neji Hyuuga is a prodigy of the Hyuuga Clan, having mastered the Byakugan since childhood. He is even compared to the clan’s elders in terms of skill. Neji was the favorite to win the Chunin Exam but after losing to Naruto, he was unable to stop his reputation from waning as a fearsome fighter. Even when fighting Kidomaru, Neji had to rely on his opponent’s mistake to be victorious. In Naruto Shippuden, Neji met an unusual end, being killed by a weak Juubi attack.

4. Eustass Kid – One Piece

Eustass Kid, the captain of the Kid Pirates, possesses the Jiki Jiki no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to control magnetic fields. This power helped him become one of the deadliest pirates in the world, but he still loses many fights. Kid was embarrassed in a fight with Shanks and lost a hand. He was also defeated by Kaido and even needed Law’s help to defeat Big Mom. As someone who wants to become the Pirate King, Kid has much to improve.

3. Genos – One Punch Man

Genos is a cyborg and one of the S-ranking heroes in One Punch Man. Dr. Kusano modified his body to assist him in his mission. His life merely revolved around vengeance before meeting Saitama, who made him realise there’s more to life than fighting. Genos begged Saitama to take him as his pupil, and even though Saitama was reluctant, Genos’ persistence paid off. Despite being a ranking hero, Genos rarely wins his fights, and his body usually ends up in horrible situations.

2. Eren Jaeger – Attack on Titan

Eren Jaeger, the protagonist of Attack on Titan, doesn’t embody the classic hero. He lacked heroism from the start, and his plans to save the world ended up targeting more than half of the population. Although he could not be called an irredeemable monster, Eren often loses his battles and needs the help of his comrades.

1. Vegeta – Dragon Ball Z

Prince Vegeta was born into the Saiyan Royal Family and appointed to rule the Planet Vegeta. However, he was forced to serve Frieza, who destroyed his planet. Despite possessing immense power, Vegeta often loses fights to his rivals, especially Goku. Vegeta simply cannot beat Goku, and in nearly every fight in which he faces an opponent with a reputation, he ends up defeated.

In conclusion, winning fights does not only depend on the strength of a character, but also on their approach, strategy, humility, and learning from their mistakes. These are the attributes that help true heroes achieve victory.
