Synopsis:
The Pacifier follows the story of Lieutenant Shane Wolfe, a skilled Navy SEAL tasked with rescuing a man named Howard Plummer from Serbian criminals who are after a secret project. Unfortunately, the mission goes awry, leaving Howard dead and Shane hospitalized for months. When Howard’s wife, Julie, is asked to retrieve important documents from Switzerland, a series of events puts Shane in charge of Julie’s five children.
Despite being a seasoned veteran, Shane has never faced a challenge quite like this one. Taking care of the rambunctious children is as difficult as facing enemy forces in a combat zone. Shane struggles to keep the kids in line, battling their mischievous antics at every turn.
As Shane becomes more involved in the children’s lives, he realizes the mission he is tasked with may be more critical than he initially thought. Complicating matters is the fact that the kids’ behavior continues to spiral out of control, posing a threat to their safety.
Shane’s task is made even more challenging since the school’s vice-principal calls him to report Seth, one of the children, has been skipping wrestling training. Shane quickly finds out Seth has instead been practicing for a local production of The Sound of Music.
Despite Seth’s mischievous behavior and his affection for the production, Shane takes on the role of producer and helps Seth and his friends put on their show.
As Shane navigates the challenges of caring for the children, he gradually earns their trust and affection. Helping them with their problems, he grows increasingly aware of the challenges of single parenthood.
Shane’s growing attachment to the children compels him to re-prioritize his mission, putting the children’s safety and well-being first.
