As the plot unfolds, more mysterious events occur, and the tension grows, creating a perfect atmosphere for a sound mystery. Kogoro, the father of Ran, suspects that something is not right about the investigation, and Conan supports his observations.
At a wedding reception, where many of the characters are present, chaos breaks out. Miwako Sato, one of the present police officers and a love interest of Takagi, is shot while trying to save Ran from a trap. Ran loses her memory, and Dr. Kyosuke Kazato, the family doctor of the Shiratori family, diagnoses her with amnesia.
When Kogoro and Megure finally sit down and tell the truth about the case, the plot becomes clearer. It all started with the death of the surgeon named Tamotsu Jinno, and after a series of events, including the investigation of Toshiya, the son of Kepala Inspector Odagiri, two other investigators, Narasawa and Shiba, are killed.
