Roronoa Zoro, the Hunter of Pirates or Kaizoku Gari no Zoro, is a skilled pirate and swordsman from the Straw Hat Pirate crew. He is one of the main characters in the beloved anime, One Piece. Zoro’s lifelong dream is to become the world’s greatest swordsman by defeating Shichibukai Dracule Mihawk.
Zoro is also part of the generation of pirates known as the “Eleven Supernovas.” These are eleven rookie pirates who had bounties exceeding 100,000,000 Berry when they reached Red Line. Zoro’s bounty was Berry.png120,000,000. His alias, Muarimo, represents his Santoryu style or the art of wielding three swords at once.
Zoro is known for his mastery of swords, and he usually wields three swords at once – one in each hand and one in his mouth. Over the years, he has used some of the strongest swords, with some even considered priceless. Let’s take a closer look at each of them:
1. Enma
Enma is a legendary sword created by Shimotsuki Kozaburou, like Wado Ichimonji. It’s one of the sharpest swords in the One Piece world and is said to be the only sword capable of wounding Kaido. Enma has a unique shape, with a tsuba resembling three leaves.
2. Shusui
Shusui is a legendary sword that belonged to the God of Swords, Shimotsuki Ryuma. After Ryuma’s death, the sword likely marked his tomb in Ringo. While Zoro held the sword for quite a while, he eventually returned it to Wano and received an equally admirable sword in return.
3. Wado Ichimonji
Wado Ichimonji was once owned by Koushiro, who intended to give it to his daughter, Kuina. However, when Kuina died, Zoro made it his own. Wado Ichimonji is an O Wazamono class sword, one of the 21 Great Grade swords in the One Piece world. Zoro treasures this sword above all others.
4. Yubashiri
Yubashiri is a Ryo Wazamono class sword and was a gift to Zoro from Ipponmatsu, a sword dealer in Logue Town. The sword is light and sharp, making it easier to use than Sandai Kitetsu. However, the sword met its end in the hands of Captain Shu in Enies Lobby, who used the Rust-Rust Fruit to destroy it.
5. Sandai Kitetsu
Sandai Kitetsu is a cursed sword made by Tenguyama Hitetsu, one of the best swordsmiths in Wano. Despite being cursed and known to bring death to whoever wields it, Zoro manages to control it. Zoro wields it in his left hand and considers the sword to be one of his favorites.
In summary, Roronoa Zoro’s swords are part of his legacy as a skilled pirate and one of the main characters in One Piece. From the cursed Sandai Kitetsu to the legendary Enma, these swords have their own tales of valor and strength that complement Zoro’s character development.
