Konoha Village is a ninja village in the Fire Country and one of the strongest ninja villages among the other scattered villages in the Naruto anime series. The strongest ninjas are born and raised in Konoha. The village is home to ninjas walking the path of good, such as the Hokages who come from the Senju Clan, or ninjas blinded by hatred like Uchiha Tobito, Uchiha Sasuke, and Orochimaru. Even the most influential people during the Fourth Ninja War, such as the four Edo Tensei Hokages, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Guy, Kakashi, and enemy forces like Uchiha Obito, were from Konoha.

In Konoha, the Hokage is the most important figure and, therefore, becoming Hokage is a popular dream among ninjas. The main character, Naruto, declared that he wanted to become Hokage since he was a child as he aims to receive recognition from everyone. Not only Naruto, but ninjas on the path of darkness such as Obito and Orochimaru also had the same ambition. Hokage holds the highest social position among other positions, even defeating the daimyos.

One of Konoha’s high-ranking officials, ANBU General Denzo, even resorted to various dirty tricks to become the sixth Hokage in place of the comatose Tsunade. Unfortunately, before he could officially become Hokage, he was killed by Sasuke in a gruesome manner, fighting an opponent who was still a child. Despite having many Sharingan eyes on his right arm and successfully stealing the best eyes from Uchiha Shisui as his right eye, Denzo died.

Not only them, but this dream is also a dream of children in general. Naruto’s desire to become Hokage, conveyed loudly and confidently, even managed to change the decision-making of Tsunade, the fifth Hokage of Konoha. Naruto reminded her of her beloved Dan and her brother Nawaki, who also declared themselves to become Hokage. Konohamaru, the third Hokage’s grandchild, who was inspired to become Hokage after Naruto, was also among them.

Not all children aspire to be Hokage, not all Jonin class ninjas dares to be and even Jiraiya refused. Nevertheless, being Hokage is a popular profession and is aspired by many children in Konoha.

In conclusion, the Hokage of Konoha holds a special position as the most important figure in the ultimate ninja village. Many ninjas aspire to become Hokage, such as the main character Naruto as well as influential figures such as ANBU General Denzo, Konohamaru and even Tsunade’s beloved ones, while some refused like Jiraiya. The Hokage dream can be seen as a symbol of recognition and the ultimate goal of one’s hard work and dedication, which makes it a well-known profession and a popular aspiration among children in Konoha.
