In the latest chapter of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda has once again surprised fans by revealing the secret behind Kurohige’s Devil Fruit. As we know, the Devil Fruit belonging to Yonkou Marshall D Teach in One Piece is the logia of darkness, Yami Yami no Mi. However, unlike most logia Devil Fruits, the Yami Yami no Mi feels more like a paramecia as Kurohige cannot transform into darkness. This raises suspicions that the Devil Fruit consumed by Kurohige is not actually a logia, but something else entirely.
These suspicions have been confirmed with the leaked details of One Piece chapter 1087. The change in Kurohige’s Devil Fruit is similar to what Monkey D Luffy experienced with his Gomu Gomu no Mi. Eiichiro Oda previously shocked One Piece fans by revealing that what Luffy consumed is not the paramecia Gomu Gomu no Mi, but the Mythical Zoan Hito Hito no Mi model Nika.
Monkey D Luffy is known as the eater of the Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit of the god Nika, which grants him extraordinary abilities. The Gorosei later hid this fact by changing its name to Gomu Gomu no Mi. In the world of One Piece, Nika is revered as a liberating warrior who brings joy with every appearance.
