The movie “Survivor” is an action-thriller about an American and British spy who was released in 2015. She states that whoever checks the validity of the visa, they must diligently look at the person’s job position as well as the purpose of their visit, if it is related to chemicals, gases, and others, Kate must be alerted. One day, Kate’s colleague Naomi (Antonia Thomas) who was in charge of checking visas, found one applicant named Dr. Emil Balan (Roger Rees) who worked in the gas industry but was going to New York for a pediatric conference that had nothing to do with his job. Naomi immediately informed Kate.
However, Kate’s boss Bill Talbot (Robert Foster) said he could not hold the visa applicant based on mere suspicion without evidence. Despite the refusal, Kate continues to investigate Dr. Emil. She continues to search for information about Dr. Emil, causing chaos within the office. Kate takes a step too far, and the National Security team comes to the embassy to question her about the accusations concerning Dr. Emil. Kate explains her intentions in detail, but Inspector Paul (James D’Arcy) refuses to accept her explanation. However, Kate’s direct superior, Sam (Dylan McDermott), does not mind.
Dr. Emil, who was actually part of a terrorist group, then reported to Pavlou (Benno Fürmann), the mastermind of the terrorist plan that was to take place in New York during New Year’s Eve celebration. Pavlou then insisted that Bill invite them to a dinner party at a restaurant he had chosen for Bill’s birthday. He partnered with a hitman called “the watchmaker” to eliminate Kate and her friends. However, the killer’s attempt failed as the restaurant was bombed, killing all of Kate’s colleagues. Kate survived as she was buying a present across the street. The incident endangered the terrorist group.
Meanwhile, Bill did not die because he was part of the terrorist plan. When they arrived at the restaurant, Bill returned to the office to delete the visa records that he had previously approved for the terrorists entering the United States. Kate, who survived the explosion, then went to seek help. However, her face was seen by “the watchmaker” (Pierce Brosnan), who then pursued her. During her investigation, she encountered Bill, who immediately tried to kill her. Kate was forced to defend herself, causing Bill to be shot, and the incident was witnessed by many people.
The investigation into the attack revealed that the bomb contained chromium. Sam narrowed the number of suspects down to “the watchmaker,” one of the most wanted hitmen in the world known for his crimes in Paris. He is a master of disguises and has undergone multiple plastic surgeries. Now, only Kate knows the face of “the watchmaker”, and she is determined to find out the truth behind the case.
