The movie is set in Forte Dei Marmi, a seaside town with many houses owned by wealthy people. Roberto Santini runs a security business that protects the homes in the area, while his wife, Claudia is running for mayor. Roberto and Claudia’s life with their daughter, Angela is not harmonious. Roberto often suffers from insomnia and is away from home as a result, while Angela is busy with her teenage life.
One night, an incident befalls Maria, Angela’s classmate. Footage from Roberto’s surveillance cameras shows Maria injured, asking for help on the street. On the same night, Roberto also finds Dario, Elena’s son and his own mistress, wandering the streets drunk. Roberto then takes Dario back to his house.
The next day, the camera footage reveals that Maria was assaulted by her own father, Walter. Roberto and Walter were known to have a bad relationship because Walter had allegedly molested Angela in the past, which caused a rift in the family. However, when Maria regains consciousness in the hospital, she reveals something else. She says that her father was not involved in the assault. She says that the incident happened at Pilati’s house, a wealthy politician who is also a supporter of Claudia.
Roberto starts to investigate the case again. He soon finds out that on the night of the incident, Maria was taken by Pilati and another man to his house where she got drunk and had sex with Dario. It turns out that the other man who was with Pilati was Stefano, Angela’s secret lover. Angela was initially angry at Stefano when she found out about their affair, thinking that he was involved with Maria. However, Angela who deeply loved Stefano ended up helping him escape from the situation.
Meanwhile, Roberto is getting closer to finding the truth about Maria’s case. He takes Dario to the police station, and Dario admits to everything. He says that Pilati paid him to have sex with the girls in the house. Pilati watched them and fantasized about it, as he had a condition where he couldn’t be touched by the opposite sex. When Maria arrives, Pilati who could not contain himself, tries to drug her with sleeping pills and succeeds in assaulting her while she was unconscious.
However, he later beats Maria to death in a fit of rage and tries to cover up the facts behind the crime with his wealth and power. Walter who finds out about the fact ultimately commits suicide.
After Walter’s suicide, Roberto resumes his search for evidence of Pilati’s crimes. He reviews the footage captured on the surveillance camera, collecting the necessary video evidence to reveal what Pilati did to Maria.
