As a 24-year-old college student, I want to present you with the Synopsis of Cheaper by The Dozen 2: The Bakers are Back! This 2005 family comedy-drama is produced by 20th Century Fox and 21 Laps Entertainment and directed by Adam Shankman. Following their move to Evanston and everything that comes with it, the Baker family is back with more adventures and a lot more kids!
The sequel begins with Tom (Steve Martin) and Kate (Bonnie Hunt) preparing for their daughter Lorraine’s (Hillary Duff) graduation party. But, as soon as the party ends, Nora (Piper Perabo) announces her pregnancy, and Bud McNulty (Jonathan Bennett) gets promoted, causing him and Nora to move away. Furthermore, the other Baker children are all grown up, and Tom feels left behind as their interests no longer align with his.
Tom and Kate decide to bring the family together for a vacation at their old lake house. At first, their children are not very thrilled about the idea but change their minds eventually, lured by the promise of spending time with their siblings that they haven’t seen in a while.
Tom and Kate are thrilled to have all of their children together and are determined to make the best of it. However, their plans are disrupted when they learn that the lake has been bought by another big family, the Murtaughs. Tom and Kate’s attempts to have a nice dinner with the Murtaughs turn sour when their kids can’t sit still and cause scenes.
Things get worse for the Bakers when the Murtaugh patriarch Jimmy (Eugene Levy) continues to gloat and show off in front of Tom and his kids. Despite Tom’s efforts to get his children to behave and interact with the Murtaughs more gracefully, they only cause more chaos.
The movie’s climax takes place when the Baker children pay a visit to the Murtaugh mansion, which leads to a series of hilarious and out of control events that leave both families feeling embarrassed.
In conclusion, Cheaper by The Dozen 2: The Bakers are Back! is a funny and heartwarming story about the trials and tribulations of a large family. The film’s cast, led by Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, deliver an enjoyable and convincing performance. This family comedy-drama is a must-watch for anyone who enjoyed the first installment and is looking for a fun and entertaining movie.
