Rigg and Hoffman are kidnapped and become part of Jigsaw’s deadly game that he had planned earlier.
Rigg discovers that Detective Matthews is still alive and he has 90 minutes to save him from death. In the first test, Rigg finds a woman named Brenda who is trapped. Jigsaw’s video urges him not to save her, but Rigg ignores this and rescues Brenda. Brenda, however, tries to kill Rigg, but he is too quick for her. In a subsequent test, Rigg is tasked with abducting Ivan, a hotel manager and rapist, and forcing him into a trap. Ivan’s body is eventually torn apart, and Rigg is left alone with the guilt of his actions.
As time runs out, Rigg must make a tough decision in the last test of the game. He finds Detective Matthews hanging by a noose, while Hoffman is tied to a chair connected to an electric current. Rigg must choose between saving one of them. Who will he save?
Saw 4 follows the franchise’s gore and brutal content, but the story can feel repetitive and lack originality. The victims are forced to participate in a series of life-threatening tests, which become a repetitive storyline in the franchise. Nonetheless, the film still offers plenty of suspense, horror and thrilling moments that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
