Jody invites Brie, a barista he met, to help Ben, but he is not happy with Brie’s ability. Despite that, Brie tries her best to work as a barista, and they expand their business by opening a new branch in Yogyakarta. Their coffee shops become popular among coffee lovers. In the middle of their success, Ben receives news that his father passed away. He travels back to his hometown to mourn. This event brings back his painful past about a sawmill company that destroyed his family’s land and killed his mother. Later, Jody also finds out that Tarra is the boss’s daughter from the sawmill company. Jody tries to keep it secret from Ben, but Ben eventually finds out. Ben becomes distant from Tarra, and their business plan together has to be taken over by Jody.
Meanwhile, Jody and Tarra travel to Makassar and Toraja as part of their business, making them closer. Ben and Brie, who look after the shop in Jakarta, also get to know each other after experiencing everything together. Jody tells Tarra about Ben’s past, and they fight over everything related to Tarra’s father’s company. They decide to close the shop temporarily. During this time, Brie listens to Ben’s problems, and Jody and Tarra become closer. Ben discovers a coffee plantation his father prepared before he died, and after deep contemplation, Ben decides to let go of his hatred and become a coffee farmer. It’s hard, but eventually, Jody decides to break up with Ben and collaborate with Tarra to continue Filosofi Kopi and learn to become a barista.
