Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween is the 25th movie in the Case Closed (Detective Conan) series, which was highly anticipated among fans since April 2022 but was released in mid-July 2022. The film features a thrilling plot that centers around a bombing case, which is typical of each Detective Conan movie.

The story begins with the bride, Miwako Sato, entering the Hikarie multi-purpose hall, where her groom Wataru Takagi is waiting for her at the altar. Suddenly, a group of armed individuals bursts into the hall and points a sharp object towards Sato, and Takagi jumps in front of her to protect her. Later, it is revealed that the wedding ceremony was part of police training for guards assigned to protect a high-profile event.

After the wedding ceremony, Sato becomes distressed as she sees Takagi bleed (even though it is fake), as it triggers memories of her ex-boyfriend, Jinpei Matsuda, who died three years ago. The perpetrator of his murder escapes from prison, and Rei Furuya alias Toru Amuro alias Zero, a member of the Public Security Police, is on the chase. During a bomb defusing operation, Furuya and his team thwart the culprit’s plan, but a mysterious figure puts a bomb collar around Furuya’s neck, putting him in danger.

Conan, Ai, and the Junior Detective League are playing with a new toy called Professor Agasa’s “elastic ball thrower belt” when they get invited to eat tempura at the Japanese National Police Agency Headquarters with the gang. While trying to enter the building, they come across a Russian man who accidentally drops a memo. Upon returning it, the tablet he’s holding explodes, throwing Ai onto the road, with Kogoro getting injured from protecting her.

Conan feels he’s being followed and soon meets Furuya, who’s been isolated in a bunker with the bomb attached to his neck. Furuya explains his predicament, and Conan promises to help him. Later, they all go to Shibuya to attend the wedding reception of a former Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) supervisor named Tsutomu Muranaka and his fiancĂ©e Christine Richard, who have received death threats. On the way, they encounter a group of individuals called Nado Unichtozit, who kidnap Detective Chiba while he’s conducting an investigation.

However, amidst all the chaos, the Junior Detective League plans to retrieve Christine’s gift from a specific location. Upon their arrival, they discover the same bomb that Furuya had defused three years before. They escape safely but the mystery of the bombings still remains.

In conclusion, Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween movie is filled with thrilling action, suspense, and mystery from start to end. The movie has succeeded in captivating the audience’s attention, keeping them at the edge of their seats, and delivering one of the best Detective Conan movies. The storyline of the movie is quite intriguing, and the characters are well-developed, making it an excellent choice for both new and old viewers of Detective Conan series.
