The Story:
Eleanor and Frederick Little are a couple living in Manhattan with their son George. One day, they decide to adopt a new member to their family and visit an orphanage. This is where they meet Stuart, a magical talking mouse. Though Eleanor and Frederick are excited about Stuart, their son George is less than thrilled. George refuses to accept Stuart as his brother, and their family cat Snowbell also wants to eat him.
Stuart feels lost and confused as he tries to navigate this new life in his new family. His troubles only multiply when he falls ill after ingesting a large amount of detergent. His adoptive family isn’t making things easier for him either, especially when George embarrasses him at a family event.
Things take a positive turn for Stuart when he meets George’s friend and they bond over building a toy sailboat. They participate in a race that they hope to win, but their rival Anton sabotages the boat. Stuart takes control of the boat, helps them win the race and begins to feel at home with the Littles.
Then, one day, Stuart’s real parents show up and claim he is their biological child. Shocked at this news, the Littles reluctantly agree to let Stuart go. But it soon becomes clear that Stuart’s parents were not who they claimed to be. In fact, they were hired by Snowbell, the family cat, to kidnap Stuart. His true identity as a member of the Little family is revealed, and the family’s bond is strengthened.
Conclusion:
Stuart Little is a heart-warming story about an unusual adoption that will capture the hearts of both children and adults. This delightful film shows that families come in different shapes and sizes and that love and acceptance are what’s most important. The characters are endearing, and the animation is lovely.
