Shanks’ True Identity Revealed in One Piece Chapter 1087

As the story of One Piece progresses, Eiichiro Oda has kept fans curious about the true identity of the mysterious Akagami no Shanks. However, in chapter 1087, Oda gave some hints about Shanks’ identity, revealing that he hails from a remote place called Figarland. Unlike other places in the One Piece world, Figarland doesn’t have a proper governing system and its inhabitants live in groups, but without any conflicts.

Interestingly, almost 75% of Figarland’s people are incredibly strong, and both Shanks’ father Garling, who intentionally put him in a box during the God Valley incident, and Shanks himself are descendants of Figarland. While we don’t yet know who Shanks’ mother is, Oda has confirmed that she exists but hasn’t revealed any details about her.

Garling put Shanks in the box to prevent his son from coming under the government’s influence and chose a path of his own. He did so because he knew of the government’s future plans and believed that the only way to stop these plans was by keeping his son and his devil fruit, Nika, from falling into the government’s hands. As a result of this, the government treats Shanks with special care, knowing that he could become a threat if they mistreat him.

It’s worth noting that the people of Figarland don’t have a desire to dominate each other, which differs from other groups we’ve seen so far in the One Piece world. With this revelation about Shanks’ upbringing and history, fans can’t wait to see what else Eiichiro Oda has in store for the Red-haired One in upcoming chapters of One Piece.
