Samsung Joins the Trend to Innovate Health Care: The Revolution of Diagnosis Digital Alzheimer with Galaxy Tab S8+
In the modern era, technology and healthcare are closely related. With the advancements made in science, medical treatments have been made easier and more accessible. Many tech companies, like Apple, have begun focusing on bringing health solutions to the forefront of their products. Recently, Samsung has announced its support for Diagnosis Digital Alzheimer with its Galaxy Tab S8+.
Samsung has partnered with Swiss subsidiary and medical technology start-up, Bottneuro AG, to research developing Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis solutions. Bottneuro has developed technology that identifies the brain’s areas affected by Alzheimer’s disease through 3D MRI and PET data, and uses self-developed neurostimulator, “Mia Mind,” for targeted electrical treatment. The Galaxy Tab S8+ is used to control the neurostimulator and send treatment data. This development makes early diagnosis more accessible and easier for patients.
The results of this research will be given to clinical patients in Swiss hospitals. Samsung plans to supply 100 Galaxy Tab S8+ products in June 2023, with the number of supplied units increasing to 2,500 by the end of the year. The company aims to expand its product supply to different regions, including Europe, next year.
As the global aging population increases, the use of Digital Diagnosis for Alzheimer’s disease becomes increasingly important. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), currently, there are around 50 million people worldwide suffering from Dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease being the most common form. This number is estimated to triple by 2050.
With its revolutionary Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ solution, Diagnosis Digital Alzheimer will be easier and more accessible for patients. The use of technology in healthcare has been a massive leap forward in this modern era. Samsung’s latest contribution in finding a solution to Alzheimer’s disease is a step towards revolutionizing the healthcare industry.
