One Piece fans were recently shocked when the bocoran One Piece 1085 from the Reddit forum revealed Nefertari Lily, queen of Alabasta, as the secret ruler of the World Government, known as Im Sama. The name Im Sama is taken from the words immortal or eternal, and as it turns out, Nefertari Lily is indeed a timeless being. Evidence of this claim is strongly supported by their mutual interest in Vivi, the current generation royalty of Alabasta.
The plot twists and mysteries of the One Piece manga keep fans on the edge of their seats. The information about the lost century and the Void Century remains hazy. However, the connection between Im Sama and Nefertari Lily is reinforced by several factors. One of these is the theory that Vivi, who appears to have similar abilities to Im Sama, might hold the key to Uranus, a still-mysterious Ancient Weapon in the story.
Fans speculate that Vivi may possess the same power as Im Sama in being able to control or use Uranus. In a series of events 800 years ago, 20 great kingdoms, including Nefertari’s, formed into the World Government, but Nefertari’s family decided to remain independent following a great war. Ratu Lili, who was part of the said war, is the ancestor of the Nefertari family, the leaders of Alabasta. In One Piece chapter 1084, it is shown that she disappeared without a trace, leading fans to speculate that Im was responsible. Yet, it is possible that Queen Lily merely chose to hide in Marijoa, as she often appears in all-black attire, making it difficult to identify her true identity.
However, some theories suggest that Im Sama and Ratu Lily might not be the same person. Historical records show that Lily also disappeared under mysterious circumstances, reminiscent of Cobra and Vivi’s current situation. Im’s initial introduction into the story shows that they were after Shirahoshi, Blackbeard, Luffy, and Vivi, causing fans to wonder about Im’s motivations behind the interest in Vivi.
Despite possible variations in theories, it is clear that Nefertari Lily is associated with Im Sama. The connection between the two meant that Dewa Nika and Joy Boy lost against Im Sama during the great war. The betrayal of the 20 ancient kings further contributed to their defeat.
