One Punch Man Season 3 Moved to MAPPA Studio: What Fans Can Expect
One Punch Man has been making headlines lately, and for good reason. After a disappointing season 2 under the production of JC Staff, it has been reported that the upcoming season 3 will be produced by MAPPA, making it the third studio change for the popular anime series.
This news was originally reported on Twitter by Shonen Leaks, about a month after the show was listed as one of the most anticipated anime on MyAnimeList. As of now, the official teaser visual featuring Saitama and Garou has been released, but no further details about the studio or release date have been announced.
Created by ONE, One Punch Man is a manga series that began online as a webcomic in 2009. Two years later, artist Yusuke Murata contacted ONE and asked if he could collaborate to redraw the webcomic as he was a huge fan.
The anime adaptation of One Punch Man premiered in 2015 and was an instant hit, quickly gaining a massive fan following. However, despite the popularity of the manga, the anime series has struggled with its animation studios. With only two seasons so far, the show has already been through two studio changes, affecting the quality of the animation.
That being said, fans are excited about the involvement of MAPPA in season 3 of One Punch Man. The studio is renowned for its stunning visuals and animations, having produced some of the most popular anime series in recent years.
Notably, MAPPA recently took over the production of Attack on Titan’s final season after Wit Studio withdrew. It has also adapted other highly anticipated series such as The God of High School and Jujutsu Kaisen, both directed by Sunghoo Park. Furthermore, in addition to Chainsaw Man and Hell’s Paradise: Jigoraku, MAPPA has a busy schedule ahead with the second season of Vinland Saga and Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, both of which are set to be released in 2023.
Although fans are excited for season 3 of One Punch Man, they are also sympathetic to the animators and production staff at MAPPA. The studio has been criticized for overworking their employees, with claims of an unhealthy work environment. These concerns have been brought up by freelance animators who criticize the studio for working on too many projects at once, leading to animators working long hours.
Despite these concerns, MAPPA has yet to disappoint fans with its stellar animation and production quality. Given their reputation and previous successes, fans are optimistic about the upcoming season 3 of One Punch Man.
