The situation in Egghead Island has become increasingly tense and unsettling with the arrival of a large navy fleet, led by the Gorosei Saturn. Saturn’s mission is to capture Vegapunk and Luffy, dead or alive. However, the Navy feels powerless as they are directly monitored by Saturn. This lack of freedom was noticed by Fleet Admiral Akainu, who is fed up with the World Government’s disregard for his position.
Akainu’s annoyance started when he was not informed of Kizaru’s departure to Egghead, where Kizaru brought the entire Navy forces. Also, Akainu was not invited to the emergency meeting held by the Gorosei and other military international figures to discuss the situation in One Piece. Of course, Akainu would not approve of their plan if he were invited, which is why the Gorosei did not invite him.
After the meeting, the Gorosei asked Kizaru to provide all the Navy forces to attack Egghead Island. However, Akainu’s name must not be forgotten because he would not back down from his principles of absolute justice. In One Piece chapter 1079, Akainu met with Gorosei in Marijoa and questioned their authoritarian policy-making.
Akainu threatened not to send any more Navy forces to Egghead Island and to dismiss Admiral Kizaru who violated the Navy’s ethic code. But the Gorosei refused to back down and told Akainu to keep quiet since he was just a pawn waiting for orders. The third reason for Akainu’s anger is Monkey D Luffy, his archnemesis, is on Egghead Island. Akainu wants to eliminate Luffy directly, but the Gorosei prevents him from doing so.
