Synopsis

Released in 2021, Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer takes you back to Los Angeles during the summer of the 1984 Olympics. However, what the residents don’t realize is that they’re in the crosshairs of the most dangerous serial killer in history. The case is brought to light when Dayle Okazaki is found dead in her kitchen, shot with a .20 caliber bullet. Maria Hernandez is another victim who is fortunate to have survived and become a key witness. Her description of the killer’s face bears resemblance to previous cases, convincing the police that there is a serial killer on the loose.

The police get their first leads from Hernandez, and Gil Carrillo, a detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, is the head investigator. Carrillo is stunned when he discovers two murders that occurred on the same night and at different locations. The crimes were committed in a similar fashion and leave the entire police force baffled. From his investigation, Carrillo discovers that the killer is not specific in their targets, but instead chose to attack anyone who crosses their path. Moreover, he is driven purely by his desires and has no remorse in his heinous acts.

The killer is also known for his random attacks through different mediums, including shooting or stabbing his victims to death, or using a hammer to bludgeon them. His fetish for torture is evident, as he also rapes his victims before killing them. The fact that the Night Stalker murders occurred in a sporadic manner and were always unplanned made it difficult for the police to track down the killer.
