Kurohige’s Powers Revealed – One Piece 1085 Spoiler
The latest chapter of One Piece 1085 by Eiichiro Oda finally shows Kurohige’s other powers. Kurohige or Marshal D Teach is one of the Yonkos currently ruling the seas. He is known to have a terrifying power, the Devil Fruits. Kurohige owns not only one but two or even three Devil Fruits, one of which is the Yami Yami no mi and Gura Gura no mi. But the new chapter reveals that Kurohige has other powers outside the Devil Fruits.
Prior to this, Kurohige was known as Whitebeard’s crew member, but he made a fatal mistake of killing his own comrade, Thatch. Kurohige killed Thatch because he wanted to eat the Yami Yami no mi Devil Fruit obtained by Thatch. And after acquiring the Devil Fruit, Kurohige immediately escaped from Whitebeard’s ship and formed his own group of pirates.
Meanwhile, Oda introduced a new power called Haki, which is said to be stronger than the Devil Fruits. This was proven when Shanks, Garp, and Rayleigh only had Haki powers, but their strength shouldn’t be underestimated. Kurohige slowly took over all the power and influence of the previous pirates until he became a Yonko.
However, it should be noted that Kurohige not only depends on the power of Devil Fruits but also on Haki. Despite the terrifying powers of Yami Yami no mi and Gura Gura no mi, Kurohige must also master Haki. Kurohige has two types of Haki, the Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku Haki. Kurohige was able to injure Shanks in the past, where the injury left a scar on Shanks’s eye. This means that he has a high level of Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku Haki, and even Shanks’s Kenbunshoku Haki was not able to react.
Kurohige has a similar ambition to Luffy and Roger, which is to become a king. People who are ambitious enough to become a king possess Haoshoku Haki. Although Oda has not yet shown Kurohige’s Haoshoku Haki, it is possible that he will reveal it in the future. As for now, let’s wait for further confirmation from Oda about Kurohige’s Haoshoku Haki in the upcoming chapters.
