Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 214: Will Yuji Survive? What’s Next for Hana and Sukuna?

Jujutsu Kaisen has been keeping its readers on the edge with its latest manga chapter releases. Fans who were eagerly waiting to see what’s in store for Sukuna, Megumi, Hana, and Yuji will now have to wait a little longer as chapter 214, which was supposed to release this week, has been delayed until next week.

In the last three chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen, the fate of protagonist Yuji Itadori has been in question. In chapter 213, he was attacked by Sukuna, who took over Megumi’s body, leaving him severely injured and his fate unknown. Chapter 214 seems to be no different as Hana Kurusu, who was the hope for freeing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm, seems to have fallen prey to Sukuna. This chapter is expected to confirm Hana’s fate and if she dies, it will be hard to predict where the story of Jujutsu Kaisen will go.

However, if Sukuna fails to consume Hana, it’s possible that Yuta Okkotsu might finally intervene. Yuta could use this opportunity to mimic Hana and Angel’s cursed techniques. With two people capable of freeing Satoru from the Prison Realm, they will be the only hope for Yuji and his friends to survive.

In this scenario, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 214 will show Yuta fighting against Sukuna, and it may end with Sukuna using Megumi’s power, which will be stronger than what Megumi could offer. Yuta will then become the only hope for Yuji and his friends to survive.

Despite Yuji no longer being on death row, it doesn’t mean he will survive in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is still the weakest Jujutsu sorcerer among his peers and lacks cursed techniques that are essential for fighting. With his current condition of being injured, it will take a miracle for Yuji to survive.

However, Yuji will not let Megumi die. From the beginning of the series, Yuji had a mission to save everyone, including Megumi. He will do everything to save his friend, even if it means risking his own life. This could end tragically, with both Yuji and Megumi dying in the series.

Creator of the series, Gege Akutami, has said that Jujutsu Kaisen has two options for its ending: Satoru and all his students die, or Satoru or one of his students survives. Currently, Yuji has the potential to survive.

If Yuji survives, it won’t change the fact that Jujutsu Kaisen has a high death rate compared to other anime and manga series. Jujutsu Kaisen has already killed some beloved characters from Satoru’s class. Therefore, a happy ending for Yuji won’t be expected.

If, on the other hand, Yuji dies, it will be a bold move for Shonen Jump, which is known for its themes of friendship, hard work, and victory. Most of the series in the magazine have a happy ending, where the protagonist survives. Yuji’s death will give a unique twist to the victory theme, and it will provide audiences and mangaka with a new perspective on the kind of stories that can be presented in Shonen Jump.

Protagonist deaths in anime and manga are not uncommon, but what happens to Yuji is different. When Eren (Attack on Titan), Lelouch (Code Geass), or Light (Death Note) dies, they meet their end after becoming evil and hurting many people, whatever their motivation was. In contrast, Yuji has never changed from being good. Yuji has always been portrayed as a good person, so if he dies at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen, then he will die purely as a hero, which will bring an emotional ending for everyone, especially if Gege chooses to kill Satoru, Yuji, and Megumi together in the end. Jujutsu Kaisen could have a tragic ending, but it will be satisfying.
