Monkey D Luffy finally manages to escape the Buster Call crisis that occurs on Egghead Island with an unexpected move. Though the Gorosei made Luffy powerless, he managed to survive and flee from Egghead Island, with the use of one of the three ancient weapons to smooth his escape.
In One Piece 1085, Luffy unleashes Poseidon to defeat the navy forces that take part in the Buster Call. Commanding Poseidon makes Gorosei Saturn panic and become disbelieving of what he sees. The World Government ordered the Buster Call to eliminate Luffy and Vegapunk, which was successfully carried out in Egghead.
Luffy’s crew was concerned about the situation as they had a previous unpleasant experience with the Buster Call. It appeared that only Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and Jimbe stayed calm even when facing Kizaru who led the Buster Call. Luffy’s team had their power developed since the last time they fought with Kizaru in Sabaody and thus, were not as afraid.
However, their peace did not last long after an old man descended from the navy ship. Luffy immediately realized that the old man possessed extraordinary power. Upon seeing the old man, Robin recognized him and warned Luffy to be careful.
The old man was one of the World Government, Gorosei Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. Before Luffy could respond to his words, Gorosei attacked the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy quickly transformed into his strongest form, Gear 5 Sun God Nika without any warning. Unfortunately, despite being in the form of Nika, the captain could not do much.
Gorosei seemed to be used to the random attack patterns that Luffy used in Gear 5. Indeed, it only took one serious hit from Gorosei to beat Yonkou with a bounty of 3 billion berries. Luffy’s consciousness slowly started to fade, and Shirahoshi’s panicked voice awakened him.
Shirahoshi managed to connect with Luffy after he awakened the power of the god Nika in Wano. It made one of the ancient weapons able to sense Luffy’s critical condition. Not long after, the waves in the waters around Egghead Island surged higher, accompanied by the appearance of various sea monsters.
The sea monsters destroyed the navy ships in the waters around Egghead Island. Gorosei saw what happened and realized it was the work of Poseidon. Luffy and his crew successfully escaped after a tsunami 30 meters high struck Egghead Island.
