The latest episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 Episode 10 continues the intense battle between Izui Tengen, Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke versus Gyutaro and Daki. After being overpowered in Episode 9, our band of demon slayers finally manages to take down the top-six ranked moon demons.
The episode opens with Tanjiro feeling helpless as Izui and Inosuke are left unconscious by Gyutaro’s poisonous scythe, while Zenitsu is already exhausted from his battle against Daki. Tanjiro’s guilt weakens him, but Nezuko appears in his subconscious and helps him understand his situation and limitations as a human. Tanjiro regains control and faces Gyutaro alone.
Gyutaro attempts to break Tanjiro’s spirit, but his anger awakens a new energy in Tanjiro, unleashing his full power of the Sun Breathing Technique. As his natural power emerges, the mark of the sun spreads across his forehead. Tanjiro prepares himself by silently carrying poisoned kunai to slow the fight. Suddenly, Izui Tengen arrives to attack Gyutaro and solidify Tanjiro’s chances.
The moment of Tanjiro’s comeback inspires the other demon slayers: Izui Tengen re-enters the fight, Zenitsu emerges to help Tanjiro, and Inosuke suddenly appears to assist them by cutting Daki’s neck. Both of the demon’s heads flew off simultaneously, making their triumph even more remarkable.
Unfortunately, when everyone was already exhausted and thought that they won, an explosion occurred. Gyutaro’s poison nearly rendered Tanjiro unconscious but he hears Izui’s words telling him to stay alive because it’s not over yet.
The episode leaves us with many questions: Did Gyutaro and Daki regenerate? How will Tanjiro survive the poison? What will happen to Izui Tengen, who already lost one limb? We must wait for Episode 11 next week to find out!
Despite the complex fight scenes, the storytelling retains the emotional depth of previous episodes. This episode showcases Tanjiro’s growth as a demon slayer with his unwavering spirit, as well as the support he receives from his comrades in their fight to protect humanity. The big battle scenes make it a must-see for Demon Slayer fans, but the deeper themes of perseverance and hope make it relevant to all viewers.
