In episode 10 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 titled ‘Never Give Up’, viewers experienced the shocking conclusion of a bloody battle between Tanjiro and the slayers against the demons of the moon, Gyutaro and Daki. These two demons were ranked six among all other demons and their abilities were remarkable, even exceeding those of a third-ranking demon named Akaza. Their fierce fight caused substantial damage to Yoshiwara, leaving viewers to wonder about the arduous task that the demon slayers had to face.

In episode 9, the demon slayers were nearly defeated. Tengen Uzui was poisoned and lost part of his body, Inosuke was struck with a poisonous sickle, Zenitsu and Insouke lost all their energy, and it seemed as if the demon slayers had no hope left. However, the tables turned in episode 10 due to one thing – the overconfidence of Gyutaro.

After Gyutaro saved Daki from being decapitated by Inosuke, he approached Tanjiro and became too arrogant, underestimating his opponent. However, his provoking words indirectly provoked Tanjiro’s anger, and his energy was awakened. Meanwhile, Gyutaro became too early in his complacency and assumed he had won, leaving himself vulnerable to Tanjiro’s attack with a poisonous Kunai. Although Gyutaro was able to regenerate almost instantly from the poison, his carelessness gave the demon slayers time to regroup.

Tanjiro and Tengen Uzui continue fighting against Gyutaro, with Zenitsu and Inosuke joining in after their recovery. In the final scenes, Inosuke wakes up and successfully slashes Daki’s neck for the second time, while Tanjiro uses his sun-breathing technique to cut off Gyutaro’s head. Even though they finally defeated the demons of the moon ranked six, it was not a great achievement. They won the battle with serious injuries, and Tengen Uzui may even stop being a Hashira due to losing his hand.
